GUESS WHICH SITE WAS A FINALIST IN THE 2007 WRITERS DIGEEST WEBSITE CONTEST

LOCKER17.COM!

Earlier this year I entered the Writer’s Digest contest for authors who designed and maintain their own website. Then my web host decided to stop letting me access my own website and email. (Get the whole story here.)

Anyway as I was spending my summer trying to make my site operable again, I sort of forgot about the contest. Then I got my October issue of Writer’s Digest. (Why the October issue comes in August—I have no idea.)

This is how I found out Locker17.com is a finalist. It didn’t win but it came close enough to get a mention. Not bad for my unknown little manuscript.

As far as I can tell it’s Locker17.com only finalist with no book to sell. (Hey Random House, you need to do something about this now. Warner, Penguin, FSG, do you hear me? Commence the bidding war now!)

From here on out I have decided to let the world know that Rock’nRoll in Locker Seventeen has been featured in the pages of Writers Digest. It’s all about page 57 baby!

Oh and Writer’s Digest.com seemed to have no trophy for me. That’s alright because I made my own snazzy one featuring Ricky Stevenson’s prized ’59 corvette. This classic piece of American automobile excellence plays a prominent role in the book. Rock’nRoll in Locker Seventeen. Don’t you want to read it now?
